How to fix “Something went wrong” error in Google Play Store?

1. Restart your device

As a first step, try restarting your mobile phone. Most of the Google Play Store-related problems can be fixed by restarting your device.

Hold down the power button until the shutdown menu appears.

Choose the Power off icon.

Once the device completely shuts off, start it back up by holding the power button.

2. Check the network connection on your mobile phone

Check whether you have a proper internet connection. You need to make sure of its connectivity, network availability, proper connection with the system, etc.

3. Update Google Play Store and Google Play Services

Click on your Profile icon in the top-right corner of the Play Store menu, to the right of the search bar.

Click on “Manage apps & device”. You’ll see a list of pending updates.

Click on Update all to update all of your out-of-date apps.

If a new version of Google Services Framework is available, this should update it.

Restart the phone and check whether you can download the app now.

4. Sync the Google accounts

You might have multiple email accounts on your mobile. It is important that you sync the account which you used to register your Google Play account.

6. Clear all data and cache from Google Play Store

Follow the below steps to clear all data and cache from Google Play Store.

Go to Settings on your mobile phone.

Click on “App” from the settings.

Select “Manage Apps”

Search for “Google Play Store” in the search bar.

Click the “Force stop” at the bottom of the page.

Select “Storage” on that same page.

8. Clear the data from Downloads

Follow the below steps to clear all data and cache from Downloads.

Go to Settings on your mobile phone.

Click on “App” from the settings.

Select “Manage Apps”

10. Automate date and time on iOS/Android Phone Settings

Follow the below steps to fix the issue “Something went wrong. Try Again” by automating the date and time settings on your iOS/Android mobile phone settings.

11. Update iOS/Android

Follow the below steps to update iOS on your iPhone.

Open the iPhone Settings.

Click on General.

Select the Software Update.

Click on Automatic Updates and check for updates.

If you still face the issue, then it is better to report the issue on the “Google Play Store”.

Follow the below steps to report your issue.

Go to the “ Google Play Store” on your mobile phone.

Either on the top left or right side, you can find your account photo.

Select the options in the confirm issue and specific area for which the support is required. 

Then it will direct to the next step “Contact Options”.

When you look at the “show hours” you will get the time at which they are available for a chat. You could just mail them the issue as well.
