What To Do When Your LinkedIn Account is Hacked?

Here are the best things to do when your LinkedIn account is hacked. Follow it in this order itself.

Fill LinkedIn Compromised Account Form

If you can’t access your account and believe that someone else has accessed it, submit the LinkedIn Compromised Account Form.

LinkedIn will ask you to verify your identity as a follow-up step. So, keep your ID verification docs ready. They would ask you for more than one document in 2-3 phases.

Meanwhile, you should be diligent in your approach and try to contact LinkedIn in alternate ways as well. Here is a detailed guide on different ways to contact LinkedIn and report your issue.

Request your connections to flag your account as hacked

To speed things up, you can ask your friends to mark your account as hacked. They need to follow the below steps.

  • Navigate to your profile.
  • Click the More… button below the member’s profile picture and select Report or block from the list.
  • Select Report content on profile in the pop-up window.
  • Select Profile Information in the pop-up window.
  • Select Suspicious, spam or fake in the Why are you reporting the profile information in this profile? pop-up window.
  • Select Hacked account in the How is this suspicious, spam or fake? pop-up window.
