Can You Get Spotify on Google Home?
To use Spotify with your Google Home device, you must already have set up a Spotify account using a web browser or the Spotify app. After linking your account to Google Home, you can start watching with voice commands.
Google will then start playing the content from Spotify. Your Spotify account syncs across all of your devices, which means you can turn off Spotify on your TV and continue watching on Google Home without interruption.
How to Link Spotify to Google Home
Once you’ve created a Spotify account, use the Google Home app to link it to your Google Home:
- Open the Google Home app on your mobile device and tap the Plus (+) in the upper-left corner of the Home screen.
- Tap Music under Manage Services.
- Tap Link under Spotify.
- Tap Link Account.
- Enter the email address associated with your Spotify account and tap Continue.
- Enter your Spotify password and tap Log In & Link. If you have more than one Spotify profile, you’ll be asked to choose which one to use with Google Home.
How to Unlink Spotify from Google Home
Once you’ve linked Spotify account to Google Home, you can use the Google Home app to unlink Spotify from Google Home.
- Open the Google Home app on your mobile device and tap the Plus (+) in the upper-left corner of the Home screen.
- Tap Video under Manage Services.
- Tap Unlink under Spotify.
How to Fix it When Spotify is Not Working with Google Home
If Google Home is not responding to your command to play content on Spotify, then you have to disconnect and relink your Google and Spotify account.
- Open the Google Home app on your mobile device and tap the Plus (+) in the upper-left corner of the Home screen.
- Tap Music under Manage Services.
- Tap Unlink under Spotify.
- Restart the Google Home app.
- Open the Google Home app on your mobile device and tap the Plus (+) in the upper-left corner of the Home screen.
- Tap Music under Manage Services.
- Select Spotify and tap Link Account, then Log in to Spotify.
- Tap Okay to confirm.
How Do I Connect Spotify to Chromecast?
If you want to stream Spotify on Chromecast or any other Google device, all you have to do is connect your Chromecast to the Google App and link your Spotify account. With multiple devices set up, you’ll have to tell Google which screen you want to watch on.
