Why Is Paramount+ Not Working on Amazon Fire Stick?

Fire Stick Paramount+ problems are usually caused by a poor internet connection or the incorrect Wi-Fi settings being selected either on the streaming stick or the connected smart device.

An out-of-date Paramount+ app or Fire Stick can also cause streaming problems that affect the streaming and listening experience.

How to Fix Paramount+ Problems on a Fire Stick

Here are all of the best solutions for Paramount+ Fire Stick issues listed from easiest to more complex. It’s recommended to work through the list in order as often the easiest solution is the one which works.

1. Is Paramount+ down? Your setup may be fine and it could be Paramount+ itself is having issues.

2. Check your Wi-Fi connection. If you’re casting Paramount+ to your Fire Stick from another device, both will need to be on the same Wi-Fi network.

3. Turn off Airplane mode. Airplane mode can disable your device’s Wi-Fi connection which is needed to cast Paramount+ content to your Fire Stick.

4. Turn on your device’s Wi-Fi. If you’re using an iPhone or Android smartphone, you may just be connected to a cellular network. Turn on Wi-Fi via the usual iOS and Android controls to see if this helps.

5. Restart your internet router and modem. The problem could be your internet connection. A router or modem restart can improve the connection and fix any issues which may have been happening.

6. Restart the Paramount+ Fire Stick app. To do this, select Settings > Applications > Manage Installed Applications > Paramount+, then choose Restart. This shuts the app off completely, ending background functions that may be causing the app to freeze.

7. Restart the Fire Stick. If the Fire TV remote is unresponsive, you can reset the Fire Stick itself. Unplug your Fire Stick from your TV’s HDMI port, wait a few seconds, and then plug it back in. This is an easy way to restart the device and apps at the same time.

8. Reset using the Fire TV remote. To do this, hold Select and Play until the Fire Stick turns off. After about five seconds, the Fire Stick will restart.

9. Update the Paramount+ app on your Fire Stick. Older versions of the Paramount+ Fire Stick app have been known to have playback issues.

From the home screen on TV, select Apps > Highlight Paramount+ icon > Press the three-horizontal-lined button on the remote, select More Info > Update.

10. Clear the cache and data on the Fire Stick. Your Fire Stick may crash while processing junk files. Clearing the cache and data gets rid of unnecessary information stored on the device.

Go to Settings > Applications > Manage Installed Applications > Paramount+. There you’ll find the options Clear cache and Clear data. Perform these in either order.

11. Check for other Fire Stick updates. The Fire Stick itself may need an operating system update to fix streaming or audio problems.

On Fire Stick, go to Settings Device (or System) > About > Check for System Update.

12. Update the Paramount+ mobile or computer app. If you’re having trouble casting Paramount+ movies or show from your smart device, update its app to the latest version.

13. Turn your Fire Stick off and on again. Sometimes the Paramount+ mobile app can have trouble detecting devices to cast to. With the app open, turn the Fire Stick off, wait a few seconds, and then turn it on again.

14. Stick to the Paramount+ Fire Stick app. You don’t have to cast video from your computer or smart device to use Paramount+ on your Fire Stick. Try logging into the Paramount+ app on your Fire Stick with your remote and browse the Paramount+ app directly.

15. Uninstall and reinstall the Paramount+ app. The app installation may have been corrupted. Removing it and then downloading it again can fix this issue.

Open your Fire TV Stick and go to Settings > Applications > Manage Installed Applications. Select an app and click Uninstall.

16. Reset your Fire Stick. As a last resort, resetting your Fire Stick to its Factory settings may work though it will delete all of the apps you’ve installed since you set it up.

To reset the Fire Stick and free up memory: Go to Settings Device Reset to Factory Defaults Reset.

17. Use Paramount+ on a different device. If you still can’t get Paramount+ working on your Fire Stick, try using a Paramount+ app on another device such as your smart TV. You may have several alternatives you’re unaware of.
