Following people have access to the folders within the eOPF system.

  • Employees can log in to eOPF to view and print their own OPF documentation.
  • Human Resource Specialists have access to the eOPFs of all employees within their service areas
  • Investigators and retirement adjudicators have access to eOPFs on a need-to-know basis.

How to download eOPF?

You can use your eOPF to download your documents in three ways:

  • Download a single document,
  • Download multiple documents, or
  • Download entire eOPF.

How to download a single document through eOPF?

Follow the below steps to download a single document through eOPF.

Visit ‘My eOPF’ home page or ‘My eOPF Search’ page.

Click the ‘Form Number’ or the ‘View’ icon to view the document.

Now based on your browser, the PDF files will either open automatically or show a prompt to download and save the PDF file.

Once the document is opened, click ‘File’ and then click ‘Print.’

In this way, you can download a single document through eOPF.

How to download multiple documents through eOPF?

Follow the below steps to download multiple documents through eOPF.

Visit ‘My eOPF’ page.

Click on the ‘Show All Docs’ button to display all your documents.

Select the documents you would like to view or print. Once you have selected, the documents will turn yellow.

Select ‘Print Single Sided’ or ‘Print Double Sided’ to consolidate the documents into one PDF. The page will refresh displaying the message, “Your print request has been submitted for processing.”

Click on the ‘My eOPF Print Status’ tab at the top of the page.

Find the relevant print request and click ‘View.’ Click ‘Refresh’ if the ‘View’ is not showing up.

Open the document and enter the following combination for the print request password: “User’s Last Name” + “Print Request ID.”

Click the ‘OK’ button.

Once the document is opened, click ‘File’ and then click ‘Print.’

In this way, you can download multiple documents through eOPF.

How to download entire documents through eOPF?

Follow the below steps to download entire documents through eOPF.

Tap on “My eOPF” tab on the sidebar

Tap on “My eOPF Print Folder” tab at the top

Tap “Select All”

Tap one of the two print buttons.

Tap “My eOPF Print Status” tab at the top

Wait for print request to process as this can take a while if you have a large file. Read the instructions and note the password down.

Click “View” in the “Action” box.

Open PDF in Adobe and enter password

In this way, you can download entire documents through eOPF.

How to sort documents in eOPF?

Follow the below steps to sort documents in eOPF.

Visit ‘My eOPF’ home page.

You can see all your documents there. By default, all the documents are sorted by descending order of ‘Effective Date.’

You can sort the columns by ascending/descending for ‘Effective Date’ or ‘Create Date,’ or alphabetically for the remaining columns.

You can also use the page numbers to move to the next page until you find the document you are looking for.

Select the ‘Form Number’ or ‘View’ icon. Now based on your browser, the PDF files will either open automatically or show a prompt to download and save the PDF file.

How to search documents in eOPF?

Follow the below steps to search documents in eOPF.

Visit ‘My eOPF Search’ page.

Enter search criteria in the available fields to retrieve specific documents. To search your entire eOPF, select the ‘All Forms’ and ‘Select All’ for Folder Sides.

Click on ‘Search’ once you have entered all your criteria.

You can use the page numbers to move to the next page until you find the document you are looking for.

Select the ‘Form Number’ or ‘View’ icon. Now based on your browser, the PDF files will either open automatically or show a prompt to download and save the PDF file.

What to do if I forgot my eOPF ID?

If you can’t remember your eOPF ID, please follow the steps below.

Visit eOPF Login page.

Select the ‘Request Your eOPF ID’ link below the eOPF ID and password fields.

Provide the required information, including the first four digits of your last name, the last five digits of your Social Security Number and your date of birth (mm/dd/yyyy).

Click on ‘Submit’ button.

A message will be displayed informing you that an email with your eOPF ID will be sent within the hour to your email address of record.

How to change your password in eOPF?

To change your password, please follow the steps below.

Login to the eOPF Login page.

Select the ‘My Profile’ button from the eOPF main menu.

Select the ‘Change Password’ tab.

Enter your current and new passwords. Then, verify your new password.

What to do if you forgot your password in eOPF?

If you can’t remember your password and need to reset it, please follow the steps below.

Visit the eOPF Login page.

Select the ‘Request a New Password’ link below the eOPF ID and password fields.

Provide the required information, including the first four digits of your last name, the last five digits of your Social Security Number and your date of birth (mm/dd/yyyy).

Click on the ‘Submit’ button. A message will be displayed informing that an email with a reset link and temporary token will be sent within the hour to your email address of record.

Check your email for the reset password email. The email expires within 4 hours of it being sent. If you cannot find the email, you can check your junk or spam folders.

Click the URL link.

Enter your eOPF ID and the token from the email.

Click ‘Submit.’ The page will refresh displaying the ‘Please reset your password’ page.

Enter a new password and retype that password.

Click the ‘Reset Password’ button, which will bring you back to the eOPF Login page

Can I access eOPF login from home?

You cannot access eOPF from your home.

You can only access your eOPF via a registered DOC Virtual Private Network (VPN). That means you must have a government computer with a registered IP address or a government computer accessing via a government Virtual Private Network (VPN).  Also, Computers accessing eOPF must reflect authorization by a DOC bureau.

Your home computer won’t have these privileges. So, you cannot access eOPF from your home.

FAQs

Can I access my eOPF if I am no longer a Federal employee?

You cannot access your eOPF if you are no longer a Federal employee. Before your resignation, you have to take print copies of your eOPF documents from the Federal government. You can also request your Local HR to send copies of any additional documents filed in eOPF (after your separation) to your current mailing address.

If you need to access your records after your resignation as a Federal employee, you can contact the National Personnel Records Center’s (NPRC) Federal Records Center Program. NPRC holds the folders of former Federal civilian employees whose employment ended after 1951.

You may obtain copies of most civilian and personnel medical records on file at NPRC via written request (hand-signed in cursive and dated) mailed or faxed to:

What to do with my eOPF when I transfer to another federal agency?

You do not need to do anything as when you leave from one federal agency to another, your eOPF is automatically transferred.

What if I have doubts regarding eOPF?

You can select the Help link on the top right-hand side of most pages within eOPF to access help information based on your role (e.g., Employee, Human Resource Specialist).

Where can I check my hourly pay?

Login to eOPF, then click ‘Access Personnel Folder Now!’ and check your most recent form PS 50 – look for line 62. It may show an annual amount, divide that by 2080 to get the equivalent hourly.
