Bing Advanced Search Operators

There are many working operators that we use in Bing to do an advanced search.

Following are the few bing advanced search commands.

+

Search for X +Y. This will return only results related to X with Y in it.

Example: tesla +elon

This search command will display pages related to Tesla with the term “elon” in it.

“ ”

This will return only results that have the search term mentioned between the quotes.

Example: “elon musk”

This search command will display pages containing the exact words “elon musk” in it.

AND, &

Search for X AND Y. This will return only results related to both X and Y.

The & operator can also be used in place of “AND.”

Examples: elon AND gates

This search command will display pages containing both elon and gates in it.

NOT,-

This will exclude a specific term or phrase from the search results.

The ‘ operator can also be replaced with NOT.

Example: elon -tesla

This search command will display pages containing elon without mention of tesla in it.

OR,/

Search for X or Y. This will return results related to X or Y, or both. 

The / operator can also be used in place of “OR.”

Example: elon OR tesla

This search command will display pages containing elon or tesla or both.

site:

We can limit the search to a specific website using the operator URL:

Example: site: tesla.com

This search command will display pages from tesla.com alone.

feed:

When we search for RSS feeds regarding X, we give it as feed:X.

Example: feed:tesla

This search command will RSS or Atom feeds about the search term tesla

language:

When we want to get search results in a particular language, you can use the operator language:

Example: cricket language:fr

This search command will display the search results of cricket in the French language.

You should know the specific language code to use it. Language codes are available here.

filetype:

Limits the search results to those of a certain file type such as TXT, PPT, PDF, DOCX, etc.

Example: tesla filetype:pdf

This search command will display search results in PDF format of the term Tesla.

intitle:

Find pages with specific words in the title.

Example: intitle:2022

This search command will display search results with 2022 in the title.

ip:

You can find the sites hosted at a specific IP address by using the operator ‘ip:‘.

Example: ip: 13.234.68.132

This search command will display search results of the website’s corresponding IP.

location:

Find the pages from a specific location.

Example: cricket location:pk

This search command will display search results for Cricket from Pakistan.

url:

Find indexed pages of the website using this operator.

Example: url:heyhowtodoit.com

This search command will find the indexed pages on Bing of the website heyhowtodoit.com

Visit the Bing website through a browser.

Click on the camera icon near the search icon in the search box.

Come back to Bing and paste the image on the “Paste image or url”.

There is also an option for uploading the image directly through Bing, for this click on “Take photo”.
